St. Mary’s University has been graded “Outstanding” by OFSTED
The Physical Education (PE) PGCE course at St Mary’s University continues the long tradition of producing outstanding practitioners of secondary PE. Come and train with St Mary’s University, graded as ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED and you will be part of a thriving creative network, with access to world-class facilities.
The course covers all aspects of PE teaching and learning, with an emphasis on creative practice for use in school. There is a strong emphasis on using and developing a range of PE models, as well as planning for the whole ability range to ensure that all pupils are able to make progress. The experienced PE tutors work in close partnership with trainees and the placement schools, developing collaborative practice embedded throughout the course. Trainees are assessed on their ability to teach pupils in the 11-16 age range, with opportunities for KS5 academic PE teaching as appropriate.
