The Havering Teacher Training Partnership is an accredited Initial Teacher Training provider currently working with the following Havering schools: Abbs Cross Academy, Bower Park Academy, The Brittons Academy, Harris Rainham, The Coopers Company and Coborn School, Campion School, The Drapers’ Academy, Emerson Park Academy, The Frances Bardsley Academy, Hall Mead School, Hornchurch High School, Marshalls Park Academy, Redden Court School, Royal Liberty School, The Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School and The Sanders School.
On this route, you will be placed for the majority of the year in one of the Havering partner schools listed above but will also benefit from half a term’s contrasting experience in another of the schools listed above where you will focus on a particular aspect of your practice.
You will be in school from the first day of the school year and from the beginning, you will be treated like a member of staff and will attend staff meetings and training days to ensure that you feel part of the team from the outset. We will equip you with an understanding of how children learn and the skills to plan lessons and manage behaviour before your teaching commences and will continue to support you throughout your journey to qualified teacher status (QTS).
All trainees teach across both KS3 and KS4 to gain a real understanding of the breadth and depth of your subject curriculum but depending on need/aptitude we may place you in a school that provides experience of KS5 teaching.
The long-established nature of the Partnership means we have a detailed knowledge of the culture and support mechanisms available in any given school. Demand for trainees usually outstrips supply so we are able to carefully match our trainees to the best place for them to thrive.
