Our recruitment and selection process is designed to allow us to make the right decisions for you as an applicant and for our placement schools.
Once we receive your application, it will be considered by a subject specialist / SCITT Tutor and the SCITT Director/Strategic Lead. If successful to the next stage, you will be invited to a Selection & Recruitment session.
The session will consist of:
Welcome by a member of the SCITT team
Document check & hand in of your pre completed subject audit form
Tour of the school in which the interview takes place
A teaching task - an opportunity to deliver a 15 to 20 minute session to a small group of pupils, a topic of their choice within the subject they wish to train to teach
Written Task (to display knowledge & understanding of your subject)

Successful candidates will be offered a place within days. An offer letter will be issued and may detail some conditions, e.g. passing your degree/ undertaking subject knowledge enhancement.
