A postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) with qualified teacher status (QTS) will allow you to teach in state schools in England and may allow you to teach in other parts of the UK.

It may also allow you to teach overseas, though you should always check what qualifications are needed in the country you’d like to teach in.

Many PGCE courses include credits that count toward a Master’s degree.

About the course

In this secondary MFL PGCE, trainees will specialise in teaching at least 1 language up to A level (KS3-KS5).

Placement 1: September - December (Mon-Thurs) Placement 2: January - June (Mon - Thurs)

We require applicants to this course to have a degree which includes a language. Please contact us to enquire about your qualification and eligibility if you are unsure.

We are looking to appoint trainees who are passionate about languages and the importance of language learning for all. We want to work with trainees who have high aspirations for the young people they work with and a desire for them to achieve.

Fees and financial support

The course fees for UK students in 2021 to 2022 are £9,250.

Interview process

In order to secure a place, candidates will prepare and deliver a 25 minute teaching episode to 6 year 7 students on their subject area, followed by a 30 minute panel interview with representatives from Cleeve School and the University of Gloucestershire
