Both placements will take place in secondary schools and trainees will have the opportunity to teach up to Key Stage 5 during the academic year. Additionally, there will be opportunities during the academic year to gain experience in a primary and SEND setting.
Throughout the course, additional specialist training will be given each Friday within the Cleeve Training Hub.

We are looking for trainees with a genuine passion for their subject and a desire to impart this to the next generation. We are seeking individuals who show a skill for working with young people and the understanding of what this will involve.
We hope to recruit trainees with a growth mindset, who are keen to develop and are able to listen to feedback and advice in order to make continuous progress towards becoming an outstanding teacher.
We want to work with personable trainees who are fun and engaging.
We believe it is important to have some experience within a school before undertaking the Schools Direct course and will work with prospective trainees to find relevant experience prior to the course start date.
We understand that trainees may already be in employment so we will work to find a suitable way to give trainees on site opportunities.
All course offers are subject to criminal record checks.

About the training provider
We are an exciting and forward-thinking secondary school based in North Cheltenham within easy access from Worcestershire and Warwickshire. We are a large and well-resourced campus with a range of modern facilities including a multi-million pound Sixth Form Centre of excellence and a newly opened purpose built training centre where we base our Schools Direct course.
We have a dynamic and high-performing staff at Cleeve who hold training and teaching and learning at the very heart of what we do. This enables us to offer a course which is facilitated by a range of highly qualified and passionate professionals.
We are proud of the close relationships we hold with our partner schools across Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Each school is individual and provides a different experience, but we believe strongly that we all hold the same ethos of putting student achievement and opportunity first and have an unswerving belief in opportunities for all.
About the accredited body
We are very proud of our partnership with our accrediting body the University of Gloucestershire. After years of working closely with the University to host ITT placements, we are now working collaboratively to offer an exciting Schools Direct course for the middle and secondary phase.
We believe that our partnership enables exciting opportunities such as specialised training sessions and allows us to access the wealth of resources on University campus and gives our cohort opportunities to work with trainees beyond our course to share practice and experiences.
If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be invited to interview either at Cleeve Training Hub, in one of our partner schools or online via TEAMS.
The interview will consist of a short teaching episode to a small group of students, giving the panel opportunity to see how you interact with the students. Information regarding what is expected from this ‘lesson’ will be provided beforehand to allow time for preparation.
This will be followed by an interview panel, consisting of the Head of ITT, the relevant subject lead and where possible, a representative from the University of Gloucestershire.
You will be expected to bring an original copy of a valid form of photographic ID to interview such as passport or driving license. You will also be required to bring in original copies of English and Maths GCSE as well as your degree certificate (if already obtained).
Cleeve Training Hub and the University of Gloucestershire are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect our trainees to share the same commitment, with this in mind, successful applicants will be required to submit references and will undergo a DBS check.
You’ll need the right to study in the UK. You already have this if, for example, you:
guidance on the UK equivalents of your qualifications
a free statement of comparability once you’ve submitted your application (if we ask you for this)
