About the training provider

We are an exciting and forward-thinking secondary school based in North Cheltenham within easy access from Worcestershire and Warwickshire. We are a large and well-resourced campus with a range of modern facilities including a multi-million pound Sixth Form Centre of excellence and a newly opened purpose built training centre where we base our Schools Direct course.

We have a dynamic and high-performing staff at Cleeve who hold training and teaching and learning at the very heart of what we do. This enables us to offer a course which is facilitated by a range of highly qualified and passionate professionals.

We are proud of the close relationships we hold with our partner schools across Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Each school is individual and provides a different experience, but we believe strongly that we all hold the same ethos of putting student achievement and opportunity first and have an unswerving belief in opportunities for all.

About the accredited body

We are very proud of our partnership with our accrediting body the University of Gloucestershire. After years of working closely with the University to host ITT placements, we are now working collaboratively to offer an exciting Schools Direct course for the middle and secondary phase.

We believe that our partnership enables exciting opportunities such as specialised training sessions and allows us to access the wealth of resources on University campus and gives our cohort opportunities to work with trainees beyond our course to share practice and experiences.

Interview process

There will be a short pupil task to see you engage with young adults, this will be based around your subject.

Following this task will be an interview with key members of the course from Cleeve, partner schools and the University

We will invite candidates to have a short subject knowledge test after the interview.

International candidates

You’ll need the right to study in the UK. You already have this if, for example, you:

  • are an Irish citizen
  • have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme (you may still be able to apply)
  • have indefinite leave to remain in the UK

If you do not already have the right to study in the UK, you may need to apply for a visa. The main visa for fee-paying courses (those that you have to pay for) is the Student visa.

To apply for a Student visa, you’ll need to be sponsored by your training provider.

Sponsorship is not available for this course.

If you need a visa, filter your course search to find courses with visa sponsorship.

Alternatively, check if you’re eligible for a different type of visa, such as a Graduate or Family visa, that allows you to train to be a teacher without being sponsored.

International qualifications

If your qualifications come from a non-UK institution, we may want to see a ‘statement of comparability’ from UK ENIC. This will show us how they compare to UK qualifications.

You can call Get Into Teaching on 0800 389 2500 for:

  • guidance on the UK equivalents of your qualifications
  • a free statement of comparability once you’ve submitted your application (if we ask you for this)

Training with disabilities and other needs

We are an inclusive institution believing in opportunities for all and pride ourselves on our high expectations of all stakeholders and this applies absolutely to our trainees. We work hard to personalise our course to meet the needs of all our trainees whether it is to differentiate for those who have varying experiences of education or to adapt the learning to ensure that those with disabilities are able not only to access our course but to thrive during their training.
