Aim of Programme:

  • Provide trainees with an education of high quality at master’s level within an environment of school-based research and enquiry;
  • Progressively develop essential subject and phase knowledge for a heightened understanding of pedagogical expertise;
  • Support the development of an inclusive pedagogy that values equality and diversity and challenges inequality with confidence;
  • Embed creativity, commitment and enthusiasm for innovative classroom practice, together with the knowledge, intellectual and professional skills required to inspire, educate and nurture all learners;
  • Engender an understanding and critical awareness of relevant policy, theory and practice related to schooling in general and the partnership schools of the South Downs SCITT in particular, with the ability to apply these in the workplace;

We cannot sponsor visas. You’ll need to get the right visa or status to study in the UK.

You do not need a visa if you already have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, or if you’re an Irish citizen.

Candidates with qualifications from non-UK institutions may need to provide evidence of comparability by applying for a UK ENIC statement.

Training with disabilities and other needs

We will discuss how we can support each applicant individually. We can make reasonable adjustments to training. Our schools all have appropriate facilities to accommodate candidates with disabilities. Candidates with dyslexia can access extra time for assignments.
