General Primary ( with Maths) 5-11 accredited Sheffield SCITT, QTS, PGC.
You need GCSE Maths, English and Science to at least grade C and a Degree.
To access the £6k bursary you will also need a B in Maths A level or equivalent
This course is 100% school based. You are taught by outstanding teachers on the job and have an afternoon a week in the HUB where experts will help you develop you skills and understanding in a range of topic such as maths, Literacy, assessment, planning, Special Educational needs and a range of subject specific sessions.
There are additional Maths sessions that trainees on this course have to attend provided to give you extra skill and understanding of the teaching and leading of maths in a primary setting.
There are no essays to write, but you will be asked to compile evidence bundles to show your achievement against the teaching standards.
The 30 Masters credits will require working with Hull University.
Your mentor will work with you to build your skills to show how you have achieved against the teaching standards. You will have 3 points in the year when your progress is reported. We aim for all students to be at least good, and will work hard with you to achieve that.
Last year 86% of the trainees got an outstanding assessment and the rest were good. We are very proud to have very high rates of employment for trainees who graduate from our course, many in our partner schools. We feel strongly that this course prepares people well for the riggors and joys of this wonderful profession.
