This PE course was developed with our partner schools and features an ambitious curriculum.
Professional behaviours and responsibilities
Subject knowledge and the national curriculum
How pupils learn
Adapting your teaching to respond to different pupil needs
By the end of the course you’ll be equipped to share your love for PE, sport and physical activity, inspiring your students’ creativity, develop innovative teaching approaches and implement stimulating resources.
You’ll learn in different ways throughout this course, for example, through:
Working with practising teachers, who you’ll meet ahead of your placements
Access to our wider CPD catalogue
You’ll also build a portfolio of the educational outcomes you achieved and experiences you have offered to young people during the course. This is a great way of showcasing your work at future interviews.
Train with us and you’ll be part of a thriving creative network.
Your main placement will be at Cardinal Wiseman school. There will be an additional placement in another setting but we make every effort to ensure this is either close to your home or close to Cardinal Wiseman. With a group and network of schools this is usually achievable.
An undergraduate degree at class 2:2 or above, or equivalent.
Your degree subject should be in physical education or a similar subject. Otherwise you’ll need to prove your subject knowledge in some other way.
Grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths, or equivalent qualification.
We will not consider candidates with pending GCSEs.
We will not consider candidates who need to take a GCSE equivalency test.
Fees and financial support
The course fees for UK students in 2023 to 2024 are £9,250.
