Bishop Challoner Training School Alliance (BCTSA) is an alliance of over 60 schools, primary and secondary, located across Birmingham and surrounding areas including Coventry, Dudley, Walsall and Worcestershire.
Being a large TSA, with a long and successful track record of training teachers, we can offer a wide range of subjects and primary places through the School Direct route into teaching. Our programmes support trainees with key strategies to become effective and confident teachers. Having a large Alliance means that the majority of trainees are employed in Alliance schools after completing their training year.
There are high-quality experienced mentors in our Alliance schools who will support you. The BCTSA Support Team, consisting of experienced professional mentors, regularly meet with trainees and mentors. This is in addition to the support provided by the University.
ITT is the very start of the Department of Education’s ‘Golden Thread’ of Professional Development, and BCTSA is also involved in delivering the Early Career Teacher Programme and the full range of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). So to teach within our Alliance means that you will have a unique opportunity of an individualised leadership development programme throughout your career, from trainee to senior leadership and beyond.
You will also have the opportunity to interact with our Maths Hub, Science Learning Partnership, Computing Hub and our local Research Schools.
Come and train to teach with us and ‘Inspire : Teach : Excel’
