You will be teaching 11 to 16 with the opportunity for a KS5 enhancement placement.
Our partner schools are all located on the Western and Northern fringes of the Lake District, adjacent to some of the most beautiful parts of the country. A strength of our programme is the opportunity for trainees to engage with a diverse range of teaching and training experiences. The school catchments are contrasting, with schools covering urban areas, small towns and very rural regions.
Our alliance schools have significant levels of experience in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and all have worked with PGCE courses for many years. We have excellent professional and subject mentors who are eager to share their skills, knowledge and practice and who have and a track record of supporting trainees effectively.
We also have an excellent record of employment
You will complete placements in at least two schools. Candidates’ schools are selected after discussion and travelling distance is taken into account.
The first placement will be structured to allow for a gradual transition. You will, however, be delivering full lessons by the end of the first placement. (This typically runs from October to December).
The second placement begins after Christmas in a different school - as stated earlier, this will be a contrasting school to help broaden your experiences.
Both these placements will be assessed.
All trainees will have the opportunity to spend some time in partner schools and settings - this could include Primary schools, Special schools and Post 16.
