If you are offered an interview this will be at one of the alliance schools for the phase range. We are looking for an understanding of school based training, an awareness of current educational issues, a realistic and positive view of schools and schooling, clear reasons for wanting to teach, commitment to teaching pupils of all levels of ability, maturity and self-confidence, and an appropriate level of subject knowledge.
The structure of the interview will normally include:
- an engagement activity with a small group of students
- a short reflection task
- an interview with a small panel of staff
Candidates will be informed in detail about the requirements for their interview in advance including if a subject test is required (if degree is not subject applying to teach - guidance will be provided for this)
There is opportunity to ask any questions before, during and after the interview process .
Interviews will usually take place face to face (there maybe an exception to undertaking interviews online)
If you are successful at stage 1, you will be invited to a follow up interview with the employing school
If you are successful at this interview you will be offered a conditional place.
